About Discover
Moving to another country is one of the biggest decisions most people ever make, and it is usually made on scattered, out-of-date information — a forum post from 2019, a half-remembered anecdote, a search page full of answers to a slightly different question than the one you asked. Discover exists because that is a bad way to decide where your family will live.
What Discover is
Discover is Domior's free, public knowledge platform for people moving to Spain. It answers the real questions behind a move — is this city right for our family, what will it actually cost, which neighbourhood fits how we live, what does this process require of us — and it answers them in full, on the page, without asking for your email first.
Every answer is built from primary sources: national statistics, official registers, public geographic data, and Domior's own geographic evidence base. Nothing on a page is there because it sounded plausible.
How we handle what we know — and what we don't
Not everything worth telling you is equally certain, so we never present it as if it were. Every claim on Discover is labelled by how we know it: a sourced fact, our own reading of the evidence, an estimate, or something we have not measured. Where the honest answer is "this varies enormously and here is what it depends on", that is what you get.
You can see the sources behind any page, and exactly how we work them, on the Data & Methodology page. If we get something wrong, tell us — corrections are the fastest way to make this better, and the correction link on each page routes straight to the right place.
We also tell you what a place is not good for. An answer that only lists the upsides isn't the whole truth — and the whole truth is the only thing worth publishing.
Dom — the AI expat companion
Dom is Domior's AI expat companion for people moving to Spain, designed and fully developed in-house by Domior. Discover tells you what is true in general; Dom helps you act on it in your particular case.
Where Discover explains how Spanish cities compare for families, Dom weighs them against your priorities, your budget and your constraints. It helps you shortlist neighbourhoods, keep track of the paperwork a move actually demands, and stay oriented through a process that is genuinely hard to hold in your head.
Dom is a companion, not a salesperson. It does not have opinions it cannot support, it does not claim to have lived anywhere, and it works from the same evidence base and the same honesty rules as everything published here.
Why Discover is free, and stays complete
Discover never withholds part of an answer to push you toward Dom. A page that stops short of the point in order to sell you something is not worth publishing, and it would undermine the only thing that makes this useful — that you can trust what it says.
If Discover answers your question and you never use Dom, that is a good outcome. Some people need a companion through the move; many people just need a straight answer.
Who is behind it
Discover and Dom are built by Domior Technologies S.L., based in Barcelona — a company built around one idea: that relocation decisions deserve real evidence, plainly explained, by someone with no incentive to flatter the answer.
Domior is not a real estate agency, a broker, or a financial or legal adviser, and nothing here is a substitute for professional advice on your own circumstances.
